TGS Cedar Port Railroad (TGS), a Class III shortline railroad, was formed in April of 2023 and services TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park, the largest rail and barge served industrial park in the United States. TGS’s primary function is to provide service to multiple warehouses, steel facilities, and other industrial customers at TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park and to provide railcar storage, cleaning, transloading, and repair for industry located along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. TGS is served by Union Pacific Railroad seven days per week and BNSF Railroad five days per week, and it can accept deliveries of all classifications of railcars. Approximately 100,000 railcars per year are interchanged with a 99.9% success rate for fulfilling customer requests. To date, TGS provides its customer base with capacity of nearly 6,000 railcar storage spots and optimized operations through its 120 miles of track and more than 20 self-owned and operated locomotives.
